So I'll rather do that than installing a probable adware/botnet to just find out the model of my laptop
I can't imagine the model number written in a laptop monitor corner.  More likely the bottom of the laptop.  However the number that one needs for the Dell SupportAssist to work unless I'm mistaken can't be found externally - one has to extract it from the laptop.  It is a unique 7-digit Serial Number.  You get the number by typing the command line below into the cmd.exe of the computer/laptop:

wmic bios get serialnumber
Terminal
Thank you to Post4VPS and VirMach for my awesome VPS 9!

Yes I'm mistaken. It will be the series name like "Inspiron" on mine. On the bottom of mine there is one "Sl No." on the stamp which is a 7 digit number. I am not sure if that is the one required for Dell SupportAssist to work.

Usually Dell has it printed just left side of Touch pad. But it disappear after a while. Dell doesn't put anything on Monitor I don't know about other brands. Anyway I prefer not to touch hardware of unscrew a  laptop without a really big issue. Speccy is very tiny tool used even by professional hardware technicians. It has no ads or anything anything. I have been using it for more than 5 years so I know about it well. It's one of those software I always install when Setup a computer.

we have more other free choices. i personally like a very small and effective app Driver ID agent. with the short name of DevID agent. and totally free to search and install driver to your PC.
