the reason is because back then pentium is the flagship brand of intel but since the release of core series the flagship is the core series and the pentium series became the entry level

nowdays you still can get a new pentium branded processor and that is basically just a gimped version of core i3

People still own old laptops these days and they come with Pentium. There is still demand for old laptops because they are cheap.

but the demand keep decreasing because most people that buy pentium laptop probably nowdays just buy a smartphone because it do the same thing and also it is very portable . much more portable than a laptop

AMD is not so popular as a CPU in our country from day first. because of heating issue. Lenovo mostly use AMD. but true battle is between Inter Original and Celeron CPU's. Celeron is almost half in performance. and when your output go high. celeron goes down to death.
That time Inter Original CPU's are too expensive. almost double to celeron.

1.AMD CPU only have the heating issue in the athlon xp era . but with the newer Athlon 64 and Athlon II AMD CPU doenst really get that hot
2.Celeron is the exteremely gimped pentium which is a gimped i3
3.yes intel milking CPU is expensive . just go AMD
