My favorite is hosting my website on my own vps
Who care about panel . and cpanel . For me terminal do exact thing much better for me

But shared hosting have an advantage of much cheaper for lower end and cpanel control panel . Also it is easier for most people

The only reason I would be interested in a free shared hosting account is if it comes with a genuine cpanel and softaculous setup, and I am confident it is managed by a very good admin.
