Making a Garry's Mod Server [WINDOWS]

Some history of Garry's Mod:
Garry's Mod (commonly abbreviated as GMod), is a sandbox physics game created by Garry Newman and later by his company, Facepunch Studios for Microsoft Windows and OS X. Garry's Mod was originally a mod for Valve's Half-Life 2, but was later made into a standalone release in 2006.
Okay...now lets get to work...
WAIT...THIS TUTORIAL IS ONLY FOR THE WINDOWS VERSION OF GARRY'S MOD DEDICATED SERVER...NOT THE LINUX...
STEPS:
1. DOWNLOAD THIS:

2. CREATE A FOLDER FOR STEAMCMD(like D:\steamcmd) and UNZIP THE FILE IN THAT FOLDER.
3. RUN THE EXTRACTED EXE FILE.
4. TYPE

5. CREATE A FOLDER FOR GARRY'S MOD(like D:\gmod)
6.TYPE

force_install_dir (path to directory)

In my case it was:

7.THEN TYPE

app_update 4020 validate

NOTE: THE validate attribute IS OPTIONAL. You can also write

BUT USING validate is RECOMMENDED.
8. STEAMCMD WILL START DOWNLOADING THE FILES...
9. ONCE IT IS DONE, IT WILL SAY:

App 4020 installed successfully

10. SO NOW YOU CAN SAFELY TYPE

exit

AND EXIT THE STEAM CONSOLE.
11. NOW FOR THE SAKE OF EASILY STARTING UP THE SERVER WE ARE GOING TO MAKE A BATCH(.bat) FILE TO DO THE WORK.
12. CREATE A NEW FILE IN NOTEPAD++ AND COPY AND PASTE THE FOLLOWING THING:

13. ALL IS DONE AND NOW YOU CAN RUN start.bat TO START YOUR GAMESERVER.
P.S.: i)THIS GUIDE DOESN'T FOCUS ON CUSTOMISING THE SERVER.
ii)SECONDLY, THIS TUTORIAL DOESN'T MENTION HOW TO DO PORTFORWARDING.

Introduction[/b][/size]

VPS - is one of the best VPS i got for free it have fast internet connection of 1Gbit, 1GB RAM and 40 GB disk storage and it is OpenVZ powered with SolusVM Control Panel. The -- Owner and me really talks less over skype but the answers i got from him are quality based but the thing that disappointed me was it is OpenVZ powered and the OpenVZ administrator can fake its Speed, SWAP and I/O speed.
So let get a closer look on VPS 4.

But as you know its an OpenVZ Powered VPS so it is fake I/O speed it can be real but only if the Drives are supreme quality SSD powered RAID Technology drives and these too costly so the first opinion that this result is fake is true. But the only thing that makes me happy is its 3.30 GHz quad core vProcessor(yeah i am serious about that).

- uses SolusVM as VPS control panel you probably used that if not below is some screen shots of SolusVM Panel

Generally SolusVM is a pretty good control panel to manage servers and its the first choice for most of Server owners who used it before.

VPS Usage
I am using this Server for development and some testing purpose, but it can also handle a fully functioning website with 20000+ users a day as it have 1 GB of RAM and 328 MB of SWAP so you can use it for hosting website.

Reliability
I never faced any downtime issue yet but recently i got amazingly slow speed connection but now its get fixed but it still not get the previous speed like in speedtest image..
My rating for reliability is 8.5/10

Suggestions
I would like to suggest them to use layer 7 protection on all Servers and also the amount of SWAP and RAM however the RAM is pretty good but the SWAP is too low it would be at least 512 MB or 1 GB.

Final Ratings
Its a good VPS for newbies and small developers also its a good choice if you are planning to go with a VPS for your website instead of Shared Hosting and your site is not too large its perfect for a wordpress blog with a MyBB/PhpBB Forum(cause vBulletin/IPB/Xenforo is costly).

Hiya guys, Gonna teach ya'll how to create a garry's mod server on a Ubuntu VPS.

1. Create a User & Login

2. Download the Install Script

3. Make it Executable.

4. Run the Installer

5. Follow the on-screen instructions

Commands you can run:

./gmodserver console - Opens the console prompts you for a Y/N answer, Press ctrl+d to exit
./gmodserver restart - Restarts the server
./gmodserver start/stop - Starts and stops the gmodserver
./gmodserver update - Logs into SteamCMD and updates the server to the latest version
./gmodserver details - Gets the Important server details.
