I'm focused on smart phones again. Been checking out second hand shops in the UAE and ended up with an older model of iphone - iphone 6S 64. I preferred it over the 6S plus because of its smaller size. I bought it just to try Apple and to see how it feels vs Android. I'm not too partial to Android since it has a chaotic feel for me. So far I can't see a meaningful difference yet other than that Apple is ULTRA controlling. Guess that may be what makes it "safer". It does feel more comfortable in my hand than the Sony Xperia I purchased two years ago and is more comfortable to use. I'm eyeing Samsung S7 second hand as well - also because of its smaller size than the up to date models. The Samsung S 9 looks awesome, but not sure whether my limited use of smart phones justifies a huge expense like that and it's much too big - like it doesn't look like a phone any longer - more like a tablet What I like about Samsung is its ability of having dual SIM whereas one can't have that with Apple. Since I seem to be traveling 3 countries and using the local SIMs I can use the Samsung for 2 SIMS. My old Nokias G2 don't work in North America - so if I move to Canada possibly next year - then I'd be able to have my other two SIM cards on roaming.

So I don't have a favourite mobile phone yet. I'm still trying them out with focus on phone and messaging and doing my web work and visits from a desktop or laptop. I'm resisting giving total control to Google of my phones, which I see in essence happening if one wants to gain full use of the phones.

i am also a big fan of Xiaomi Specs. but one thing is still irritating me.. why why why why always copying a same design copied from iPhone? is Xiaomi have no own created design? last month a new phone Mi8 launch with the tag of #Xiaomi#flagship#phone#2018. but as you see its also a copied design of iPhoneX. why why why. all other phones as you see A1, A2, Note5Pro, Mi6, Mi8, S2, S1, all and many more with same shape same design same color same materiel. no new idea. the one and only series of phone that i personally loved is Mi Mix 2 and Mi Mix 2s. those phones have a specific look that no other brand adopted. a pure Mi phone.

Difference between Note 8 and Note 9 are not too much but the price is too high. it's 130,000 PKR and Note 8 is 90,000 PKR. i think the smartphone prices should not be too high like this. it's too much.

Particularly since it is a dual SIM card Samsung. So looks as though I'm swinging back to Samsung - but an earlier model S7.

@sagher they don't actually copying Apple's design but instead they are both having the same ideas on what would be the consumer wants to their phone "new looks".

Turned out it was a battery problem.  I took the Apple 6S to an Apple Service Agent in Dubai.  They tested it completely.  I had bought it second hand and battery was wearing.  But looks as though an accident could have happened too as the person who tested it said the microphone was not working well - looks as though damage had occurred on the top side - maybe a fall.

I had purchased two Apples 6S - and then when I started to use the second one while the first one was having its battery replaced, that Apple 6S lasted much longer before needing a recharge.  I also asked for the second phone to be tested, and it aced all of the tests.  Just as well I got a second phone as ironically the shop that sold the first one had checked it through carefully, but didn't have a chance to check the second one. 

What's nice is that the Service Center recommended I try and upgrade the first Apple 6S - so I'm thinking of an upgrade to Apple 7S for the first one with the microphone issue.  I still think my Samsung S7 is a stronger phone than Apple 6S.  Camera takes nicer pictures for sure and the phone has more memory. Will be interesting to see how Samsung S7 compares with Apple 7S.
