Messing with core files is quite useless in Wordpress, like its very complicated. That is why i prefer HTML web pages rather than wordpress due to limitation.

Actually Wordpress has less limitations when you compare with doing all with HTML. With HTML you can do only Client side tasks. To Do server side programming you need something like PHP. and Wordpress has everything premade which save so much time. Same goes for SEO. These plugins have everything you need to do.

And that requires a really great knowledge and also to understand how Wordpress works.

If you want to run a WordPress site then you need to have a good knowledge WordPress. Once you start using it you get that sooner or later depending on how hard you work on your site. But the benefits you get from that is 10 fold of a HTML site. IT saves years of coding time as well as time you have to spend learning high level of PHP. Then come those plugins which give you functionality which would take light years for you to master.

Then optimizing plugins, i have hardly seen any good plugins that are optimized, the one i am using are so famous but sadly they have always increased the page loading speed.

Problem is people use too many plugins. But these days it is a must to use a plugin like Yoast SEO. Specially if you optimize each page / post. It gives lots of pretty good options without messing up site or page speed. Usually what effect Wordpress site speed is those heavy themes and widgets.

Totally agreed.  Good start would be to register as a Webmaster with Google first, Google has loads of documentation available as well, however it may be a good idea to use some of the analysis tools it has available for feedback from Google.

Hello,I have used Yoast SEO in past and namy of my websites. But the main problem is one keyword per page. SO I moved onto the seo framework. Have you ever used it?

SEO is a hard thing to do really, I'm not sure what to do for SEO. Anyone else know what to do in terms of SEO? I've seen Yoast in WordPress but I really have no clue what all of it does...

True.  Everyone loads Yoast, but there is actual work involved that one has to learn and figure out for oneself.  Yoast plugin guides you to add keywords and to make a blog SEO friendly.  You need to check this after the blog article has been written.

Here is a basic tutorial for how to use Yoast SEO.  If you check through it the author says that Yoast SEO has gone over the top with including features that aren't really necessary.  So he at least provides a BS detector in what the good features are of Yoast SEO and how to apply them.  His accent is a little bit pronounced, but it sounds as though he has mastered SEO and this is a basic tutorial that will help set up those who don't know how to use the plugin - bearing in mind the plugin is just a SEO tool.  It doesn't do the work for you, you need to get into it and use the tool.
