an awesome recap how freevps was in monads experience.
Wow @perry0011 where did you find this gem? I'd love to read it at its source - if it is possible to provide us with a link. I think most of us are fans of Monad and wow, what a great peace of history for those of us who loved FreeVPS.
Sadly, it also showed how little the staff had interacted with the members. Like there was zero communication about all of the good efforts that had been made to get more sponsors. I can just visualize a thread with all of the efforts listed in it and asking the membership for more ideas or assistance. Just imagine all the posts it could have generated, as well as the energy it would have created.
Tonight when I checked in at FreeVPS I was totally shocked to my core. Two members of staff were referring to the membership of FreeVPS as being toxic. I couldn't believe what I read. It was as though they were describing a different Forum. Why I bring this up is that this is perhaps what was the death knell for FreeVPS. A Forum that was run for the staff by the staff with little to no communication or bonding with the membership, mostly because they didn't think much of the membership. The staff were mostly focused on the staff, and saw the membership mostly as a challenge. Not as a potential ally.
Anyway, for me Monad is a legend. Totally up there with the gods for me. I learned so much from him, and have total admiration for his hard work, his courtesy to every one, I'm really sorry I won't be able to be in the same Forum as he any longer - that in particular feels like a great loss to me. For me Dave, the owner of FreeVPS, created a magic idea with the Giveaway Process and Monad perfected it with lots of dedication, hard work, intelligence and genuine love for FreeVPS.
