Years ago when I applied for Amazon I just as a blogpost and for AdSense I got the account for brand new 5 page site. Not anymore. These AdSense approve only old sites which has been around at least 6 months. As for Amazon they let you register and use their ads but they approve your account only after when you start making sales. Then they will do a manual audit on your site and let you know if you are good to go. So these things need a preparation too.
Not aware of these because I got my accounts approved years ago. At that time AdSense had already been requiring websites older than 6 months. But for Amazon, there was no manual audit or phone verification at that time.
Anyway, I am not focusing on Amazon anymore, and now only work hard for AdSense. Because I found the sales conversion rate of my Amazon links were just too low. It appears to me that it's just not worth my time to play with that Amazon Affiliate program. Too much efforts for little rewards.
