I am using uptimerobot too (free version). The performance is acceptable.

I don't need SMS notification because I think their email notification for downtime is good enough for me.

Yes, I'm using it long time ago also and Yes, no need for SMS (at least for normal people).

Good tutorial amirGT it's nice from you to let others know about free service which can help them in controlling their VPS.
