Suggest you follow suggestion of @perryoo11. Hopefully you made a backup of the content before you started having problems. Regardless, all you need to do is reinstall the OS. It will completely reformat the VPS - remove all data. And as Perry suggested this way you may increase the performance and speed of your VPS as well.
