Size of photos when they are downloaded from camera to computer

Yeah I'm using photoshop. I'm soo used to it. Can't move to anything else or have reason. Tried GIMP years ago but I couldn't get used it. Well those big images are big resolution is great but only for professional photographers who do shoots for TV or big billboards etc. Another reason is these images are saved in 300 bpi. Now when you change it to 72 bpi resolution decease in more than half.

Ah well my friend is not yet a smart phone person just like my self. She use it only for basic stuff mostly. She bought a new camera for bargain price. Got a Bridge camera for less than $200. That has about 40x 0r 50x zoom plus lots of other functions so it was totally worth the price. Only down side are those problems in low light conditions and when you want to take fast photos. But these are common problems among all compact cameras with smaller sensors.
