I have checked the VPS plan, the announcement thread for VPS 18 and all the replies to it. It is nowhere mentioned that you get a full Windows Server license for free with the VPS. Moreover it is said that you need to bring your own license when the trial license expires. That's the case here.
A Windows Server 2016 Standard license that is limited to 2 cores costs $110. So running a machine with two cores means a $220 price for the license. Luckily you have two cores only.... still $110 are a lot to simply give away such a license.
A Windows Server 2016 Datacenter license is just $770 per two cores...

Enterprises of course get much cheaper conditions but overall they still pay a lot... Microsoft is expensive eitherway. And they keep changing their license model to squash more and more money out of people... like this "per core license" thing that was introduced with Windows Server 2016.

Single core score is 333 and multicore score is 600. That doesn't equal a overall score of 933. Just in case you misunderstood the benchmark.
