Step 1 - Purchase and install an SSL certificate. (To save money, use Let's Encrypt/AutoSSL)
Step 2 - Change your WordPress General Settings to use https.
Step 3 - Rewrite URLs using the Better Search and Replace Plugin.
Step 4 - Check for the green lock icon in the browser.
Step 5 - Resolve Mixed Content issues.
mixed content is caused because there is non-https content in https site . the solution is to find the images or script that isnt https and force https it . rewrite plugin will do that thing because it basically find http and replace it with https
