VPS Management Mode
#2
@fChk  I do.  Probably because I'm lazy.  Panels I understand are risky, and if you take some time to buckle down and learn how to work with Linux and a good OS like Debian, you don't really need a panel, it is almost a 100% more secure and you're completely in control of what you are doing (most of the time).  I do some of my Websites from the command line only.  However for Website DNS, mySQL databases, phpmyadmin, etc I use VestaCP.

My needs are mostly of a hobby nature, so possibly you must be a professional developer.  I'm more interested in the management and administration of hosting accounts.  I also like WordPress very much and have a few hobby blogs I like to keep to myself mostly with comments etc disabled.  I try to keep them as secure as I can with only using WordPress approved themes and plugins that I've researched properly first.  That took years of learning during the course of which I did a really good course as well.  WordPress can be as good or as bad as the learning curve you put in it.

I started out with using VestaCP in 2014 when it was iffy from a documentation point of view.  Kept learning through trial and error, and now it's the devil I know situation.  Like I've mastered (hope I have) most of what is needed by me personally which may not be the same for others. I can get it up and running through to setting up the domain and site within minutes of getting a new VPS. I don't use it for FTP or e-mails as those areas seem to be very vulnerable in most panels.  Most valuable tool of VestaCP for me is its discussion Forum.  What I need to know is a click away with a good Google search, and if I can't find the answer, which very rarely happens, I open an inquiry in the VestaCP Forum.  I don't always get an instant response, but somehow the answer always manages to find its way to me.  But yes, for someone brand-new to VestaCP, possibly they may throw it out as it's not the same as cPanel.

I guess all of us got terribly spoilt with cPanel and Windows completely knocked our brains out.  Like we became willing sheep (I'm right ahead of the pack) and let others do the thinking for us.  Guys like you, Hidden etc must be smiling and probably wondering at the stupidity of it all.  When you can get right under the dashboard instead and with some good learning effort and experience run everything from the command line. All the tools are there to do so as well, including training courses that are getting better quality every day, and so many of them freely available as well.
Terminal
Thank you to Post4VPS and VirMach for my awesome VPS 9!
