Just note that Discord has some odd privacy rules, as in they can read and see any message you send and they do get information like what applications you have open. If you are worried about security and the like, Telegram is better in that regard.

How do they get information on what applications you use and open? Does the app have access to that stuff? Honestly on iOS that’s virtually impossible, not sure about the other platforms discord supports though.

But either way, that’s quite scary... why in the world are all the apps/sites/companies nowadays trying to get info out of their range of services... this is ridiculous! 

And the fact that discord, a company we all know and trust, is doing the same? Like wow
