I use both of them. I have notebook with SSD, and external hard disk drive, VPSs with HDD and with SSD too.
When I bought my SSD it was more expensive but nowadays a 128GB which is enough for Windows 10 is very cheap, you can buy it for as low as 30 dollars, or even less if there is a promotion, like BlackFriday or CyberMonday. In the future (because the current is often too small for movies, virtual machines, etc.) I'm planning to buy an 1TB size SSD if I have enough money and it will be much cheaper like 100 dollars from second hand with a few years of warranty. But I don't trust in TLC so MLC is a must for me, I like the Samsung's Pro series, Plextor, Micron, Crucial OEM drives.
