When it comes to on page SEO Title takes only about 10%. But it's important because it's an indicator of the main keyword of the page. The thing is retentiveness has got less value these days. Keyword density of your main keyword should be less than 2% and better if its around 1%. Having border content gives you better ranking. Now you can't rank well by just writing 400 word well optimized content. So to get better rank you need to do more things. Problem is when you get there how to make people click your site not your competitor.
