Actually I heard both Google Chrome and Chromium is developed by Google. I believed Chrome is a chromium  based browser,  but an advanced version of it. I know both are different in terms of features, but having some similarities as well.

Already mentioned this somewhere on this board, but anyway, here we go again:

CHROME = GOOGLE'S (OPEN-SOURCE) CHROMIUM + GOOGLE'S PROPRIETARY CODE BASE (THE THINGS THAT SPIES ON YOU) + OTHER PATENTED MEDIA-RELATED STUFF
