I vote for "Off topic" section to get converted into a category instead where different nature of topics could be discussed within its respective forum. For scientific discussions, "Science" would be good followed by other topics in their respective forums.

I like this suggestion.  I've never liked the name "off-topic" anyway .... sounds to offish.  

OK, looks as though there is more than one support around here.  I've "experimented" a little. Subject to ratification by @Dynamo.
