Do you have a Drone?

Drones are not that expensive as it looks, obviously if you are going for some professional drones then they are not going to be less than $400, but its not necessary that you go with professional drones. They are not even good for beginners because you have to learn flying it first.

Three months ago, i ordered a very small micro drone, for around $15. It was a toy drone for fun purpose. It didn't have the features like those professional drones so it was really hard to fly it, and when it doesn't have altitude hold you have to manage its altitude via your remote control. It was nearly impossible to fly it outdoors due to its micro size wind would fly it away, however my micro drone was crashed to the tree and due to its micro size, drone didn't get any damage.

For that micro drone i even made a small review to show its flight, features, you can check out the review here:

Then in June, i decided to buy some serious drone with camera, though it wasn't a professional drone obviously but it had 20% of professional features those expensive drones have. It is a DJI Mavic Clone and really resembles it. Camera is just 2 MP which is not much good, but anyway you can still take some shots when you go to a park. Flying time is around 7-10 minutes but buying batteries can increase your flight time. Still the same problem in all those drones is that they cannot handle wind, though it may be possible to fly it in wind but at higher rates and needs to be professional otherwise those drone would fly away.

Another problem of those drones is that some countries custom just don't allow it, you can't fight a good drone locally, all those are available at international websites, and when you import them they get stuck in custom and impossible to take them out. Though those cheap drones aren't so good to do any type of illegal activity, still these are blocked in some countries.
Found your post fascinating practical info.  Well done!

I've been following news on the negative side, like at Heathrow Airport they've had real issues with drone amateurs who could not properly control their drones and created safety concern for air space of planes.  Last I read something about it, which was a few months ago, they were going to make it mandatory for people to do basic training first before they are allowed to operate a drone.  So possibly one would have to get a license or something.  Another place where it was a problem is in prisons, where they used it as a form of courier.  I find all of it very interesting though - all of the James Bond 007 K tools becoming real.  I hope you'll be able to get a really good drone.  I'm almost certain if one starts to join interest groups that there must be hobby owners who have worked out ways to get round the customs problems.

This is why cheap drones are made because they give you lot of experience and even if they crash they won't create any trouble. One must go for cheap drone if they want to go for expensive drone since it can be dangerous if it crashes. Drone is not that hard to fly, problem is anything can happen if it loses connection or something. Though flying drone near airports are strictly not allowed and there are laws for it. In some countries license is required for drone, however in my country no license is required just few rules have to be followed. By the way, it is possible to buy drones locally here, but expensive one and for that you don't have to do anything, just go to shop and buy directly. Only custom is the problem. There are even cheap drones imported to country and sellers sell them for 3x more price.

Thanks for those replies, it seems interesting. But still this not clear.
Can I manage my drone if I am at 10 k.m distance?

Thank you  Sweet

@Littlemaster Maybe that will depends on the drone FREQ and it's antenna so signal is still reachable.

Rather than video or entertainment, I am curious to see the way AI is implemented into drones to automate every day applications. For example, Amazon has been researching how to deliver packages with drones instead of paying third party shipping companies. One obstacle with this however is battery capacity of the drones, and to remedy this issue amazon has actually been trying to use blimps. The drone would connect itself to the main power supply of the blimp, the blimp would drive itself near the recipient, and said drone would detach then drop off the package. After that it's rinse and repeat. The blimp idea is also effective for multiple customers in a close range. It could stop in a neighborhood and then multiple drones could deploy and get a few deliveries done at once. All in all though, almost every aspect of drones are exciting.

It will definitely not work in South Africa lol.  Here crime is a way of living.  They'll hijack both drone and all of its contents as easy as pie.

I don't have a drone and I won't buy one because it costs way too much.
And not just the initial $400 but you have to buy insurance and get a licence.

Sadly, I don't have a drone as it is illegal in my country, in addition to when i tried searching for a good one on amazon, the sellers are either out of stock or the price is too high or probably the shipping is too high. I'm sure most people don't have a drone as drones are illegal in most countries, but if I own one I will fly it in my house Troll Troll Troll (Maybe in the balcony) But to be honest, I really like yours and I want to know it's name if you won't mind.

I don't think a toy drone would be illegal in your country, a drone without a camera shouldn't be illegal. You can find cheap drones from Chinese websites like GearBest.
