Also check http://freedns.afraid.org/.  They provide free static sub-domains with DNS.  It's a free service that has been around for many years.

And https://nic.eu.org/.  Afraid.org is easier - one needs lots of patience with applying for a free eu.org domain.  May take weeks.

Just don't use free domain and switch to 88 cents domain, probably from Namecheap. Even though if you are using for personal website, at least you will be sure that domain won't be taken away from you like how free domain providers do.

Exactly, free domain providers aren't trusted. i suggested namecheap.com which is really cheap starting from 0.48$ but cheapest domain is 0.88$ (.site .website .space .pw .press .host .us .online and .fun) i don't know why they mentioned 0.48$ starting price on their advertisement.

It is because of the ICANN fees, they include that fees in their cart.

@arsalhmed786  those 0.48$ domains are personal domains.  Like they're ones with extensions that are personal and you will find them on a different page. Looks as though the page is under maintenance, but this is where they are found.  I found them unsuitable though.

Like with you the only serious ones I've been using are the ones starting from 0.88$.  I got quite a number of those.  What one should check while one is buying them though is not all of the cheap domains at Namecheap get WhoIS protection.  Not because Namecheap is cheap about it, but because of certain domain extensions requiring that there shouldn't be WhoIs protection in place.

True.  I'm a bit confused though about the concept of a "free" TLD domain. How could it ever be free? Like even if you got a free domain initially, you still have to get ownership of it if it's really going to be your domain.  I only think a domain belongs to a person if one has control of the panel of the domain so one can add or delete name servers to it.  If one doesn't have that control, it's not really a "free" domain.  It's a domain on temporary loan - and a very insecure loan with a real possibility one may lose it at the renewal stage.  Maybe another person will get it for you - and before you know it they may want to sell it.  Also, usually when a domain is transferred into someone else's name there is a cost associated with the transfer of the domain.  And once the renewal comes up one has to pay for the renewal. 

Why go through any of that if one can get a cheap domain from Namecheap and control and manage it oneself.
