For an Linux server 512MB RAM is more than enough in most cases unless sites are seriously big. Now if you have a heavy site like that you should able to buy a paid vps.

To be honest, why would you run a Windows Server? Most purposes can also be done on a Linux machine.

You need a WIndows sever if you want to run search engine optimization or Social media related software. 99% of these software are made for Windows so there are no other choice. Also I guess if someone runs a site in ASP.net or something related you need a Windows server.

I love PHP and it's the most popular but there are enterprise level applications which need to be used online and also as standalone and also which need to be cross-platform compatible. where we need things like .net or java. So yeah we those need Windows Servers.

And when I said SEO tools that's a whole different world than those free online tools. For example Keyword Research and competition analyze like marketing samurai, Traffic Travis which need to be run 24/7 with lots of proxies. Also there many other tools like that which we use for various other things.

Yeah i agree there is lots of program to increase SEO ranking for windows rather then linux, if you start searching SEO tools for windows you ll experience many different tools for different work for backlinks you need to find Backlink builder tools like Backlink beast damn there is too many tools for windows.

Well They Are providing Free VPS with good specs but the country is USA and in europe the ping is above 250.!

Well I have vps there are speed is good. Yeah pinging depends on your own location so maybe too far from your location to data center. FDC servers are in Dallas, Texas I think.
