a system that auto closes a topic after x days/weeks inactivety

Hmmm IMHO closing old thread due to inactivity may be a good or bad idea? I am not sure either, since I am considering our new members to post on that old thread but it may come to a way that posting to that old thread for just adding counted post may not be a proper way. Maybe I suggest that old thread that reach a current x days / months of inaactivity may be moved to a TITLE entitled ARCHIEVED, by that creating a new thread with similar to the ones that moved to ARCHIEVED can now be allowed since it was already inactive and RULES should be changed to if we implement this kind of thing to our forum.

I wonder why bumping old topics such as "What do you prefer" is a big problem. The more older threads appear on Google Search Engine, and hence results in new user registration. I think that such topics must be allowed to be bump.

I think this is a very good idea, but we should choose a longer time for automatic closing a topic, such as after 3 month is an optimal time.

I guess it will be good if we close topic 1 months after the last posts, but user can still comment there and go to the admin draft, and if there is no new posts accepted, after likely 3 or 6 months later, the thread goes to the archive section.

Likely, with this suggestion, we can sort "active" and "inactive" topic.
