Unlimited Free Web Hosting
#1
Hi guys,

Today I shall introduce you to a COMPLETELY FREE UNLIMITED WEB HOSTING PROVIDER. They are HelioHost, a non-profit web hosting organization based in Kirkland, US.  The company was founded by Ashoat Tevosyan in 2005. It's operated by an active group of volunteers. They own their own physical servers operated out of a professional data center in Silicon Valley. They own three physical servers - Stevie, Charlie, and Eddie. There are five virtual servers - Johnny, Ricky, Tommy, Cody, and Lily - out of which Cody runs their main website, wiki and the forums and Lily is still in development(ie, a non-public server).

Recently one of the hard drives of Eddie crashed - https://www.helionet.org/index/topic/364...-downtime/ -  which subsequently caused Tommy to crash.

I could have previously introduced this company to you but I waited. I am doing it today because today's a special day for HelioHost. They have been running a fundraiser for their new physical server - Sparkie - which they have purchased today
-  https://www.helionet.org/index/topic/364...purchased/.

They provide excellent service and anything you need to have your website up and running - be it Java, Django, and lots more. They provide ASP.net hosting on free hosting on the Tommy server.

They provide support through their forum- HelioNet. They also have a wiki where you can find tutorials for almost everything. Also, I would like to mention that they sell VPSes also - https://www.heliohost.org/vps.

I am thankful to them as they were the pioneer in my involvement in web development. The service is open for everyone - who wishes to host their website but can't afford unlimited hosting. Except the disk space every other feature is unlimited*.

I would recommend you to try out the hosting service if you cat afford one as you will find all features enabled for yourself. Also, note that you can't create accounts anytime. Signups open up at midnight UTC and remain open till the available slots aren't filled.

P.S.: The links aren't any affiliate links. As they are a non-profit company. they do not have affiliates anyways.

*Emails are limited to 50 a day and cron jobs to 2 a day.

Sayan Bhattacharyya,

hi. thanks for the nice info. Do i just enter my email there in the sign up page ?

do they need any other documents or anything ?

also, how long will be the wait time for a free account over there and do i have to post banner adds or anything similar on my websites if i use them ?

i might use it for a very light html website i am going to make for a friend and see how it goes.
Sincere Thanks to VirMach for my VPS9. Also many thanks to Shadow Hosting and cubedata for the experiences I had with their VPSs.

Well yeah @rudra, you gotta fill in your email there and you'll receive a verification email following which you'll finish creating your account. You don't require any other docs, no credit card nothing. In future, if you might wish to move to a better server, you may donate a dollar and have your account moved. But that's completely upon you, and there's no forcing of any kind. (Otherwise Tommy signups open at midnight UTC and get filled in a few seconds, so popular he is.)

Basically, all accounts are free there, there's no paid plan at all. The donation is completely voluntary. Usually, your account is created within a few minutes but in rare cases it can take a few hours to a day (very rare). You DON'T have to place any ads on your website nor any mention nothing. There are absolutely NO forced ads. Don't get swayed by the HelioHost banner on my website, it's completely voluntarily put.

I assure that you'll love the service. The staff is very friendly and I'm there on the forum as well as on the Discord help server to help people. Smile

you say " In future, if you might wish to move to a better server, you may donate a dollar and have your account moved.".

better in which way ? less number of users sharing it or more features or what ?

@rudra Tommy is better in the sense that, yeah it has less number of users (comparing with Johnny), better uptime and better speed.

In addition, Tommy has the additional advantage of NodeJs which is only available on it. Moreover, the wait time for Java access on Tommy is very less as compared to that on Johnny.

For normal websites, Johnny should do, but if you'd like the above features you may consider signing up for Tommy if you're willing to stay up till midnight UTC for the free signup or making a donation (minimum $1).
