Which Sony was it? I've got a Sony Xperia X (2016 model). I've had it since end of 2016 and only really used it for the first time when I was in Canada recently, as my old 2G phones couldn't get on to the network in Canada and the US. Fortunately I'd taken my Sony phone as a backup and was able to set it up with a SIM card.
I'm lucky in that it's rare my phones fall, but I was worried about the Sony phone from a fall point of view because of the way it felt in my hand - like I was taking more care than with my other phones not to let it fall. I was given a standard cover for the phone - a Sony cover - but it was already breaking away in the one corner and didn't feel as though it was protecting the phone enough. The guy who sold it to me also said not to worry to use tempered glass. However after using the phone in Canada I think he was wrong - before I left I ordered both tempered glass as well as a more solid cover for the Sony from Amazon and have just received it now. I haven't experienced any overheating though. When I did research before I purchased the phone, there had been instances of heating reported in older models, but not Sony Xperia X - although I've never used it for gaming. Maybe if one would really put the phone through heavy use of resources - such as with gaming - maybe it overheats then?
Maybe Sony was the worst experience for you, but I don't think it's the worst phone. Maybe it's just more delicate because of Sony's typical great screen viewing. The reason I purchased it is that one gets a great color experience with it. However, Samsung is so good these days with colors too. Sony however has a solid fan base - I've come across rave reviews by Sony phone owners who are very happy with their Sony Smart phone. Even those with earlier models - where it overheated - still thought they preferred their Sony over other models.
Is it possible to let us know which Model of Sony broke and overheated?
