It's with great regret that we have to inform the Holders of VPS 5 and members of Post4VPS that the sponsorship of VPS 5 has come to an end. The two VPSs need to be vacated by 20 February.
We wish to thank @Manal for the very long duration of the sponsorship, and hope that we will still be seeing him around at the Forum. His quality contributions to discussions as well as excellent support of VPS 5 will always be much appreciated.
Wishing you everything of the best for Shadowhosting's future Manal.

As the title says. How does SARS-CoV-2 affect your current job situation? Or how did it affect your previous job situation?
I'll start with my experience.
I work for a state authority. I still have my job that I have since 2016. We didn't have any short-time work periods. Nobody was laid off so far. Just the usual stuff like work contracts that expired or people that retired due to age.
In terms of work... for me and for the whole IT depatment it has increased. A lot of stress due to all the home office users and lack of devices and other resources to make everything possible as quick as possible. Although our educational branch has been basically shutdown during the first lockdown (March 2020 - August 2020) the work load has no really decreased. It feels like even more. Sometimes goes from 0 t 100 in a few hours and suddenly everyone acts super crazy about going into home office and etc. TL;DR: we have more than enough work to stay employed for a long time. Same stuff in the current lockdown that is supposed to end on the 14th Feb but most likely will be extended again.
In all the time so far I only had a single home office day in which I spent working even more than I would usually when I would be at my office... I won't get started with overtime. Have enough hours left to take off a week. Already did take days of to reduce it as I had to much overtime and that gets your issues with HR. I ended the year 2020 with 13 free vacation days left which I have planned into Jan 2021 and March 2021.
However I'm happy I'm able to keep my position and receive my full pay. Actually we even got a small bonus last year for our outstanding work during the first lockdown.

When starting your small business, portfolio, or forum web traffic is vital to get your name and services out into the world on the digital front. Search Engine Optimization or SEO will help make your website, content and products friendlier for search engines to parse and feature on their result pages. In this Tips from a SBO, we will be focusing on how to optimize your website for search engines to allow for you to drive more traffic organically.
What is SEO?
SEO allows for clearer navigation of your website, so when Search Engines crawl the web for results your website is optimized for the engine to easily pull content and presents it for users to visit. The search engines typically check your site for relevancy, cross device support, quality content, user experience, speed, linking and meta tags just to name a few. These items when used correctly will boost your SEO Score making your listing much easier to find when doing your Google Search.
The tips above will help you build a SEO-friendly brand, but also doing small things like allowing commenting on your posts and having ‘Evergreen Content’ (content that will stand the test of time and can be used as a reference) help build meaningful and engaging communities that will build your audience and website traffic.
Social Media is also a great tool when use as a tool! It can be fun to scroll through Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, but these platform can also help you to build your brand and push new audiences to your website which will drive up your traffic, eCommerce and ad revenue!
SEO Faux Pas
There are some items that will not help you build your SEO. These items often deter new audience members from wanting to join your community. These items include annoying ads littered over your site, farming links that have little to no authority to just get clicks on your site and abusing tags to fluff up your content. Make your content meaningful and easy to engage with!
Hopefully this guide is helpful for those who read it! There are a lot of great tools on the web that can help you optimize your website to boost your SEO score especially for CMSs like Wordpress and some forum softwares. I am not very versed in MyBB, but I do know that vBulletin has some great plugins for those that use that platform.

- Relevancy – Having your content being relevant to your industry or the queries you are trying to get hits on build your relevancy. With my business as an example, when you search for Graphic Design in Lawrence, Kansas you will see all of the design agencies in the market, however mine is towards the bottom of the list due to the maturity and relevancy of my content, amongst other factors.
- Cross Device Compatibility – Today, you need to have your website optimized for a wide range of devices. Most consumers will view your website on their mobile device or tablet and if the site does not function well they will have a hard time returning for future business. Many content management systems like WordPress feature and come pre-stocked with responsive themes that will appeal on any device.
- Quality Content – Quality content is gauged on how well you are writing for your audience. Most quality content is judged based on if you are writing for people vs. search engines and the more quality content you produce for your audience, the higher your SEO score will rank!
- Authority – This can easily be summed up on the credibility of your content with your users and the field you are publishing content in. For example, Tyler Bell Design Co has more authority when it comes to small business tips, eCommerce, and Graphic Design while we have no business talking about how to repair your ’97 Toyota Camry.
- User Experience – This section tracks with how easy your site is to navigate for a user. Sites with a high user experience score have easy to navigate sites with minimal clutter that distracts the user from your primary purpose.
- Speed – Browsing speed is a huge deal when trying to serve content to your audience. Having a slow website will drive traffic away from your site and your audience will begin looking for content in other authorities. Keep plugins, css, images, and fonts minified and use a backup CDN service such as CloudFlare to cache your site keeping things as speedy as possible!
- Linking – Having a clear and easy site is important, but it’s also very important to continue keeping your audience in your site, with providing links to more articles which keep them on your site longer. Having your audience interact with your site for longer periods of time helps sell products on the eCommerce front, but can also help with generating more revenue from advertisers.
- Meta Tags – Clear and concise meta information helps your user’s weed out information in a search query. They don’t have any major effects on your SEO score, but they help keep your site and content clean while on the search engine. Most CMS including WordPress provide meta tagging information natively!
- Tagging Images – Tagging your images is of vital importance! Search Engines cannot see your images, but they can parse the data of your alt text making it more likely for them to pop your site and business with properly attributed and tagged images. Note: Many people over look this item when curating content for their website, so stand out with a quality image description!

Do you invest money in something or having a long-term investment plan? I think one of the biggest problem society have is people get old and end up without any money or family. In the modern world, we no longer can rely on our families to take care of us in old age. It worked great in old days but today I think it's becoming less and less practical. So we need to have some money saved for those times when we are helpless to do what we do now. I know there are many ways people invest money on Like Fix deposits, Life Insurance, real estate property, gold, etc. Also, there are not so common methods like investing in rare items, etc.
Do you have a plan or have you been already doing that? Younger you start it will be better for you when you get old.
There are several things I do and I like to do. I think buying some land would be a great investment. I haven't done this yet but I'm going. It doesn't have to be something expensive. There are areas where land is pretty cheap. But these are won't stay undeveloped all the time. Another reason why I want to do this is that I would love to settle on a small farm one day and grow stuff, move away from busy cities.
I also invest in the stock market. Now I do it long-term way. I buy small about of shares like every month. But only from those big companies which have pretty solid share price. So I will keep buying for the next 20 years or so or till I decide it's no longer matters.
There is another thing I do. I buy stamps. Now it doesn't look like a promising way to invest money for some who don't know about philately. But in some countries, there is a pretty good market for that. Also, it's one of my hobbies. So it's a hobby which I can enjoy but also can have future returns. Now I'm kind of so obsessed with it so every month I buy a bit of stamp at face value.

Are you reading the news?
Nowadays the USA market is going crazy due to a subreddit community called WallStreetBets that is rising up the price of GameStop's commercial actions.
They are just buying the actions and holding them. A lot of expert are saying that a lot of people will get hurt from this market manipulation but so far only hedge funds are losing money.
The internet is full of this new war "Rich vs Poor", when the seconds one attacks using the same weapon of the first!
What do you think about it?
Do you ever buy a commercial action?

Nature vs Nurture
I noticed this board was a bit inactive, so I decided to put up this question here!
So, the debate is Nature vs Nurture
I'll include an excerpt from the internet regarding the main point of the debate below,
Quote:
- Nature refers to all of the genes and hereditary factors that influence who we are—from our physical appearance to our personality characteristics.
- Nurture refers to all the environmental variables that impact who we are, including our early childhood experiences, how we were raised, our social relationships, and our surrounding culture.
So the debate is mainly as to which factor plays the more important part in our behavior and growth. Is our personality effected more by our genes or by our upbringing?
Some philosophers such as Platos suggested that particular elements are caused by genes and occur naturally without environmental effects. However, other philosophers seem to agree with the other opinion.
Personally, My opinion on this matter would be that initially our personality is controlled by Nature, especially before one explores the world. Once he/she grows, the environmental factor comes into play and may or may not effect the person in positive/negative way. E.g. I am of the opinion that no child is born evil, however the environmental effects can shape his/her personality.
I'd be interested to see what you guys think about this

first post in this board in 2021!

Hey,
So recently I played my first ARPG (Action RPG) called Path of Exile,
I really had fun playing the game and am still playing however this increased my interest in other ARPGs (like Diablo).
I wanted to know if there other ARPG or even RPG game followers on this forum, and which game they like to play
Personally I don't play PoE just because of its gameplay, but moreso because of its unique currency system. The game is based wholly on user defined Supply and demand, and prices vary alot depending on how much currency has been pumped into the league...One league usually lasts for around 3-4 months and every league is fun to play as each league introduces new mechanics into the game.
