I was just wondering, what is the name of the little cloudy on our header section?

It isn't possible to create multiple variant to be applied on special events?
  • Santa-cloudy!
  • Horror-cloudy (halloween)
  • Easter-cloudy (easter)
  • Firework-cloudy (new year)
I don't know much of MyBB but editing the "header" module should be easy: just check for specific dates or range of date and load a specific logo Smile

Please note the following VPS Holders still have missing posts for October.

I will update this list on a daily basis so you may check this for an up to date status of missing posts.

If your name is not in the list below this means you have completed the number of posts for October.

@OldMeister   -   16
@Khadeer143   -   1

For those who are focused on not more than 20 posts, please note the number of posts in your post counter may not always be accurate when threads/posts have been deleted.  You can check your number of posts manually by clicking on your forum name link, then click on "activity" in the list of links, and then count your posts for October.  Posts that are shaded in purple are threads/posts that have been deleted.  You need to make more posts to compensate for the deleted posts.

For those who do not know, the missing post rule is strictly applied.  If you should fail to complete the required 20 posts by the end of the month (GMT time), then your VPS will be powered down.  If you then wish to keep the VPS you will have the opportunity to reapply for it at the next Giveaway, with a penalty of 100$.

https://post4vps.com/Forum-Gaming-Section

Some of you may have noticed a change in the Gaming Section above.  Previously it was listed under Geek World.  But problem for me was that because of it being a sub-forum not all of the gaming sub-topics were easy to notice.

So I made the Gaming Section into its own separate category and all of the sub-forums are now forums in their own right.  I'm hoping that they will now be easier to see and may motivate game enthusiasts to post more.

I also added a separate Gaming Section Forum on reviews or feedback of using a VPS for a Games Server.  The hope is of course to share experiences of using Post4VPS VPSs as Games Servers, but VPSs outside Post4VPS may also be good.  Provided it's not for advertising.  Advertising VPSs has its own section and will be removed if posted here.  This section is supposed to be about genuine feedback and recommendations of your experiences with using a VPS for a Games Server.

I really wasn't sure where to post this thread... it seems to me it could fit into several categories... Scripting and programming, hobbies, portfolio... I figured gaming general was a good  place to start. Feel free to move it if you think of a better place for it Smile

For a few months now, I've made myself a new hobby of making (or attempting to make) video games.

The project I've been working on the most lately is a sort of dungeon crawler with RPG aspects. Think "Pilgrims Progress" (John Bunyan, 1678) meets "Eye of the Beholder" (SNES, 90). I call it "Inner Demons: Dungeon Crawl"

At this point I'll inject a screenshot:

In this game, you walk around a maze of a dungeon and encounter characters and enemies and grow your stats. Instead of the traditional abilities, characters, and stats you would find in a RPG, within "Inner Demons" you meet characters like "Confidence" and "Charisma" instead of "Bard" and "Warrior." You won't gain strength and speed: instead you grow stats like "Courage" and "Patience" to do battle with nasty enemies. You won't face off against a "Fire Elemental" or a "Kobold" Instead you try yourself against things like "Temptation" and "Doubt" and "Ridicule"

The challenge of the game is to find out which stats/abilities work best against which enemies - for example, "Confidence", "Compassion" and "Resilience" work great against "Ridicule" - "Courage" and "Willpower" not so much. The end game (I consider the game about 5% complete) is to create a narrative that allows the player to explore and discover different aspects of themself, while learning how to react in  difficult emotional situations.

I'm currently working on 0.0.6 release which has a few new features (and I'm sure bugs to come along with them): Primarily visual options changing the way the graphics are rendered, positioned, and layered, screen and lighting effects, and I'm considering options for a higher resolution mode.

Here's where the community comes in: There's no way I can test this on every device and figure out which options work well, what I should keep, and what I should abandon. No matter how much time I spend testing,  I'm still limited by my devices: I can test it on my phone or on my laptop... that's about it.

Should you choose to test it, and decide that it's worth your time to offer feedback, it would help me to know:
  • Device you're playing on (mobile, tablet, laptop, desktop)
  • system resources: cpu(architecture), RAM, Video card
  • Which screen/lighting/resolution effects you tried
  • Which screen/lighting/resolution effects worked well, which caused bad performance
  • bugs (this is a test build, bugs are almost guaranteed)
As well as any other noteworthy question, comment, or suggestion. I have thick skin: don't be afraid to be harsh. I don't care if you tell me you hate it, just as long as you tell me why you hate it. Conversely, if you love it, that's great but it only helps me if I know specifically what you love about it.

Known bugs:
battle screens aren't working - I changed the way the screen resizes from absolute values to relative values and battle screens are set up in absolute, so they are currently broken. You might find them working in an older version.
No options for touchscreen yet - options screen is set up in absolute values, so that has to be fixed too.

You can test the dev build with the new effects at: https://games.gdevelop-app.com/game-92af...index.html - please note this test build link will only last about a week
You can find the current (hopefully stable) build on itch.

If you aren't convinced you want to try it, maybe a video of the new effects would help? You can find one  on youtube

And yes, it's 100% free, cross platform, and made out of 100% public domain assets assembled with FOSS Smile

Also, if you tested and offered feedback, and you wish to be credited for testing, please pm with how you would like to be mentioned/linked.

We've just received very important information from our sponsor @Manal from Shadow Hosting that affect the VPS 5 Plan.

VPS 5 holders please take note that you need to take backups and remove the content of your VPS as soon as you can but not later than end of Sunday, 25th of October.  Shadow Hosting is in the process of upgrading VPS 5 to an advanced spec node which means that all data on the current node will be deleted and lost.  We apologize for the inconvenience, but I'm sure you'll agree this is excellent news at the same time.  The node will be upgraded from 32 GB RAM to 128 GB RAM along with other spec upgrades that will be announced shortly.  I'd say that is super impressive for a VPS Plan that was already one of our top VPSs spec wise, many thanks @Manal.  Cool

Manal Wrote:Due to running out of stock for both of our nodes, we're working on bringing in the advanced node, replacing the first node of 32 GB RAM with 128 GB RAM, and much more optimization. With that being said, we'll be deleting our 32GB RAM node, on which VPS 5 is running. We'll begin with the process in 2-3 days and all data would be lost. To avoid any important loss, please tell the VPS 5 users to take a backup of their data.

We'll be back with the VPS 5 within a week with a much powerful node. Further specification will be provided once the node is setup. We're sorry for the inconvenience caused.

I have had computers for such a long time but started using a cordless mouse only three years ago. I bought this wireless mouse for like 1 USD from a sale. Tested and it worked so bought it to keep it as a backup mouse. After all, it was just 1usd so cheaper than a corded mouse. I had to start using it just after 2 months. I was so impressed with its performance because it was light weighted but responded so well. Next 2 and half years I used it. It worked so well and only had one problem. That mouse was a battery hog.

Needed to replace it's AA battery once in 2 months. So needless to say I wanted another cordless mouse after that one. That's when problems started. The next mouse was about 6 USD and worked perfectly at the shop. At home using it was like driving a manual steering truck. and stopped working after like a month. Next mouth was working well but then it started to stop working too. Like it was working one hour then nothing. So now I'm back to corded mouses again.

A couple of weeks ago I bought a Logitech corded mouse for about 4 USD. This is works so well and I don't need batteries either. The first few days were not so great because. It seems to be a gaming mouse and a bit heavier than all those I used for the last 3 years. Now I'm used to it so all great. So, I won't be going back to a cordless mouse anytime soon.

What type of mouse you guys use?

Hello there,
I was actually just going through the shoutbox where i actually saw a discussion going through of iPhone repair and stuff, So thought i should open up a thread for it.
So, I'm not actually a huge fan of iPhones actually i don't hate it, I actually like the iPhone 11 Pro Max and iPhone X!
Talking about the old models like 6 - 6s , 6s+ , 7 and 8.
There are things which are good there are things which are not that good.

1. Battery : Battery in old models is way too less. In iPhone 8 is maximum of 1821 mAh, There was one time like my friend had is 4G on without opening any apps while i had 4G on my mobile which is a Huawei Y5 like my battery went from 90 85 while his iPhone 8 straight went to 97 to 51.

2. Pricing : Pricing are still high for even older models. The parts even are expensive, I went to buy a charging cable from a shop for my brother, It costed mee thrice than the price of a android cable.

3. Repair : Repairing of an iPhone in Pakistan (Not sure of Other Countries) cost as much as buying a new phone itself literally.

Well coming on good things i would firstly say the camera even the older models like 6s+ camera picture quality is way better than some of the latest i would say phones like OPPO (not talking SAMSUNG or any huge but yeah in some cases).

Second thing is the performance in my personal experience i have not much seen iPhone hanging especially with 2GB of RAM, The performance is smoothness is quite nice though!

Looking to hear your opinion on iPhones in your country!
