@deanhills I don't actually remember it was a 2014 or 2015 version. Overall its usage as a phone(calling and SMS) it's fine. But it usually hanged up when suddenly connected to internet for like 10 minutes. And also must mention about the usual lagging when using simple applications like internet browser. My friend had the same model and her phone broke when it dropped from a table. Later on I minimised the usage as much as I could. Huge updates came on but it improved nothing.

Say does anyone had any experiences with a Xiaomi phone? I saw Redmi Note 5 for $162USD off AliExpress and converted back to my local currency would make ~$216CAD which is quite cheap for a phone. It looks decent and I'm in need of something cheap so I thought about getting it. The phone supports all 2G & 3G bands here (but our carriers here don't really use 2G anymore anyway, we're always in at least 3G coverage), and B7 for 4G LTE for all carriers. I think a few also support B41 which is the stuff they use in China and I assume it's just in Canada for them to roam here so I doubt coverage on B41 would be good anyway but B7 should be enough. Has anyone had any experiences with the phone itself? Want some feedback from owners before purchasing it.

I've heard only rave reviews of Xiaomi, only thing is you must check whether there is a reliable service Center for Xiaomi available close to you just in case something happens.  I haven't ever heard feedback where someone needed to service it, but I know in the UAE there are certain big stores like Carrefour who support Xiaomi in a big way.  If I should buy a Xiaomi phone from them and experience a problem, all I need to do is take it to the Carrefour store where I purchased it from, and they will make arrangements for servicing the phone.  It's good however to verify the availability of support in advance of the purchase of a Xiaomi and if I should buy a Xiaomi one day - which there is a good chance off because it has the specs and price I like - I'll verify this with the store from where I buy it from first. 

I traveled to Canada during May and must say it felt as though Canada compared with the US and the rest of the world is operating in the dark ages, and trying to fight its way out of a very protective locked in system. You can't get a good SIM card upon arrival at the airport.  There is something at the 7 and 11 at Vancouver Airport that when I googled it came up a cropper - so I waited until the next day to check things out and lucked out with a Roberts chatr SIM. I'd particularly check up on real support of the Xiaomi there before I buy a phone as most of the really good phone brands like the iPhones are all locked into popular packages (the big providers seem to have all of the good phone brands locked in - however there seems to be a movement happening to get out of it).  Canadians for the bigger part seem to be supporting locked phones in preference to phones like Xiaomi (being non the wiser for now).  Guess one could get a prepaid Chatr with Xiaomi but I'd make sure there is a service center that will service Xiaomi and how the service warranty works for it before I buy a Xiaomi.

I wouldn't say that it can't run pubg mobile(if you take that for a comparison), but I'm not a mobile gamer.

It's the best UI I've ever seen on a smartphone. It's both smooth and customisable. Overall I prefer it over my old Motorola.

for me miui sucks espescialy for lot of bloatware and also the ui is very heavy that crimpled the high specs for low prices that it gives . they update it frequently for adding another bloatware mostly and without any android os update most of the time

Not actually aware of any bloatware. The UI is pretty much simple and highly customisable. I don't know how simple UI falls under your requirement. They don't update OS but system updates to improve performance with the specs. Running for 1 year and more, my guess is it'll last long. That's what I require.
About custom ROMs, I won't rather go in the risks of breaking system bootloader, rooting the OS and flashing a custom ROM for a more good look which in the end run into incompatibilities with other hardware of the phone. Those stuff from A may look good but I've had problems with custom ROMs before and will rather not prefer them.

but for me despite the heavily modified android which there are some feature that i like in miui . but some of the feature i already get on custom rom or it just doesnt worth the heavyness of the rom . installing custom rom on xiaomi phone is kinda like ressurecting it performance back . i try it on my phone and also my friend phone that have lower ram and before using cusrom my friend phone extremely struggling to do anything and gets hots very quickly but after i install cusrom on my friend phone it worked much better . the heats issue is still there but probably can be fixed with custom kernel or some kind

Did you do the ROM flashing process by yourself? Even if, what phones did you do on? Are they Android version 5.0.0+? Because older ones doesn't have bootloader security and flashing from recovery terminal from sdcard is easier. If you don't know about it, you can get a in depth guide about it from here:-

I've followed this process myself and can verify this information to be correct. If you're still unsure you can search your phone model up followed by "custom ROM flashing" and a number of guides will show up.
Secondly I really don't understand what you mean my "features". You mean customisable? Every brand modifies the base Android source code to create a modified version of the OS to properly communicate with their custom hardware. Custom ROMs may give a lot of more flexibility to the UI but it's a lot riskier attempt as there are a high chances of getting your phone hard bricked. Flashing a recovery at the first will be my opinion if you're going for it. I'll recommend TWRP:-

Every phone with any ROM will first run smoothly and get laggier after months because of data cache being stored. It has nothing to do with the topic. Overheating is not even remotely related to the ROM or "custom kernel".

My Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 doesn't even heat a bit when playing PUBG, ARK Survival Evolved, these are one of the most heavy weight games. I think this heating issue is in few phones.

China Flagship phones are awesome. specially Huawei cellphones. Xiaomi cellphones and Oneplus phones. even Meizu are good. but the price of those are too high as compare to famous flagship phones like iphone and samsung.. as per may 2018 results. some best benchmark phones are
