Yesterday saw a movie that disappointed me - particularly since it has two of my favourite actors in it Pierce Brosnan and Owen Wilson.  Movie is called No Escape (2015)  Acting was good but the plot and production sucked badly.  Also there was very little of Pierce Brosnan in it.  The movie is about a couple and their two kids who arrive as expats in a country in Asia - no name given - just at the time when a coup broke out and hooligans try to take the country over were hunting Americans.  Some of the action scenes were completely incredible.  I missed parts of it, as it was very boring.  Amazing how the family were the only ones who magically escaped.  With only a few scratches on them.  Complete disappointment.  2/10

@chanalku91 mentioned that "pirate netflix" sites before . it called lk21 and indoxxi . this site is basically just a streaming site like netflix but with lot of ads , crypto miners and slow servers . it doesnt have ANY LICENSE for the movie that they host . the site get blocked from time to time but simple domain tld change keep those site from running

and yes copyright / piracy in indonesia is a mess . most people here use pirated copy of software no matter what the platform is . on desktop mostly pirate windows and ms office on the mobile side mostly pirate paid apps/game

For older eighties and nineties blockbuster movies YouTube is a good bet. Looks as though it's only most recent blockbusters as well as very popular classic movies that have been blocked on YouTube. A couple of years ago I managed to get a huge collection of movies on YouTube this way. I also happened by accident on a very old series with Robert Mitchum - Winds of War. That was a brilliant series to watch - available for free on YouTube:

I use youtube mostly, sometimes Dailymotion, earlier there was a Chinese site which offered streaming through UC Player, lot of time went past, nowadays do not get much time.

yify is good. pb is good for torrents.
i mostly use torrent for movies and serials. havnt watched a movie for quite some time now. Most have brcome formula entertainment.

You're so right about that @rudra.  I was thinking exactly that last night when I was watching Law and Order.  And the movies are the same.  They all follow a certain template that is totally boring and redundant .... almost repetitive, trying to get the same "level" of satisfaction every time. 

I'm not as savvy as you with computer security, so have been resistant to torrents.  I guess my limits are youtube old movies.  At least most of the movies that are available for downloading were made during times when movies were still authentic, and not according to a template that is copied and exhausted until it fails.  Mass produced.

have this idea that it may be due to our age and the experience that has accumulated with it that is making it appear as formula entertainment. I always look for novelty. keep abreast with latest developments in science and technology. But surely the possible variations of human experience cant keep up with that. I take solace in visiting new places. human interactions may appear just the same but thank god food and travel and science and scifi books are there for us.
