I sold my OnePlus 3T long ago. After that I got a Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite with Android Go. For a small period I have used a iPhone 6S as my main device just to try it out and see how iOS is. The overall experience was horrible because of a very limited OS and the battery of the phone was pretty dead. After a month or so I changed back to my Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite. Well, the battery life used to be good on the Mi A2 Lite (4000 mAh battery) but with the Android P update it has been totally destroyed. And this is yet again another time, another brand and another Android version upgrade where this happened. This happened on the OnePlus 3T too when I upgraded from Android N to Android O. And previously I had the same issue with a Huawei Honor 6 (Android L to Android N).
Trash devices... all of the phones nowadays ARE TRASH. I have the Mi A2 Lite for less than a year and battery is already so bad. Charged to full, a night of 6 - 8 hours of being idle and only running a alarm once to wake me up and 11% battery gone. I barely have anything installed on it and I close all applications to prevent background usage and such things. I'm using power saving mode already and have enabled this battery AI feature of Android P. Useless technology snake oil. I checked the battery usage log that Android has and it had absolutely nothing listed but I lost 11% over 6 to 8 hours idling. Uhm... Thanks, I guess?
So what is the next phone going to be? Maybe nothing? Or a simple and very cheap feature phone with a battery life of several weeks?
