Thing is Contabo VPSes are really cool, I've a friend who has loooots of VPSes bought from them, and he's given me one too. It's a solid machine and even with the network port speed capped, it's performance is remarkable. And moreever, you cannot match that price anywhere, it's damn cheap. Also, I don't believe ID and proof of address are that big an issue when you're sharing it with a trusted provider.

Contabo is good but I won't go as far as saying excellent.  Gigarocket has been on a Contabo VPS for almost 2 years.  There have been many challenges, and the latest ones have been drags on the system.  I'm almost certain it must be all of the security filters that create those drags.  It's better now, but at one time there were plenty of tickets submitted to Contabo.  Now for excellent I'd go for Hetzner instead.

For me personally I'm trying to stay away from Europe and it's dictatorial hosting rules. US also has its own rules, but I feel less of a minion with US hosts than I feel viz a viz European hosts.
