Virmach  VirMach VPS 9 Review (Chicago)
#1
Hi all,

First of all, thanks particularly Dynamo who let me win this VPS 9 during the last giveaway. It is by far the greatest spec VPS I have ever got from any similar post-for-vps website.

Here is my review for it:

VPS 9 Specification

Disk Space 100 GB
RAM: 8 GB
IP Addresses: 1x IPv4 & 3 IPv6
Virtualization: OpenVZ
Monthly Traffic: 4 TB

I/O (2nd run)   : 564 MB/s
I/O (3rd run)   : 679 MB/s
Average I/O     : 661 MB/s

My Opinion
-------------

It is no doubt that this VPS has good amount ( 8GB ) of RAM. It fits so well for my applications that are memory-demanding.

Disk speed and network speed are also great. Disk space of 100 GB is good enough for my application storage.

And so far I have experienced no downtime of this VPS. It seems pretty stable and reliable.

This VPS has IPv6 support, which is a bonus for my software development targeting IPv6 connectivity.

CPU is dual-core and is also fine. Although I thought 4-core should be more reasonable for VPSes with similar spec.

No control panel is provided. But I already knew about it before I applied for this VPS.

For this VPS, I would now rate it 8/10. (Because I have not been using it for long, I may amend this rating later.)

EDIT: After using the VPS for more than a year, I would love to re-rate it 9/10 due to its overall stability.

Thanks for reading my VPS 9 review.

Everything is perfect in this VPS, from network speed, to disk speed.
What is the location of the VPS?

It is located in Chicago. I have edited the OP to include this piece of information.

It should give an idea how the network speed may differ in different locations, if you compare it with other VPS 9 reviews other members already posted.

Latency depends on many factors, and the VPS's network speed is only one of them.

From your own VPS 9 review, it seems that network speed of your VPS is also great.

So, it is likely that your latency issue should be caused by something else.

You cannot blame the host that it is not performing good, you should always look at location first if you think that it is not good before requesting for a VPS. If you lived near USA, your ping would be good, so everything is perfect.

According to your VPS 9 review, your VirMach server location is Phoenix, which is already the one closest to where you are living in.

Singapore VPSes should be your best choice for latency but unfortunately, it seems no sponsor in this forum is offering any VPS located in Asia Pacific region.

i only use the sgdo vps for ssh and 1 website hosting only 1 website it only have 512mb
