(Hey, sometimes I'm passing the post standard requirement, sometimes I don't). And that's making their forum go down. I've feel the new member conditional. Like, I post, then it gone. And I will say "What the heck is that? Is that a spam? No!".
Totally agreed with this.  I thought the comments in the OP of that thread with reference to the lack of quality membership was insulting to the membership without the intention of being that.  I felt that presentation reflected badly on the staff and revealed everything at the same time.  Most of the statements in it were flawed.  The way it was handled too by not engaging the membership of the Forum ahead of time with the problems said that they didn't really want any input from the members.  They're not that very interested in what we have to say.  If they had been we'd have had the discussion before the announcement.  Not after.  It became pretty pointless after that.

What I found pretty ironic was just after that Announcement there was an addendum about joining a new discussion group for the community to keep in touch.  They must have been thinking like this for a very long time to have been prepared with something like this already.

Thank you to Post4VPS and VirMach for my awesome VPS 9!

You can’t really blme sponsors. Even before we lost sponsors, activity was already declining.
Also, due to the low activity, probability of hosts sponsoring the forum is low. A cycle eh?
It’s not saying that it’s the members fault.

Also, the staff are doing it for free and they have a life. Don’t expect them to work for FVPS 24/7.
As for finding sponsors, it isn’t easy. Even if you have good incentives, some hosts aren’t really keen on sponsoring forums.

It's a huge disappointment that FreeVPS has to go, but I sorta seen that coming anyway... The decline of activity and the lost of sponsors just all adds up and then it all crumbles together... At least they aren't in a hurry to shut down, there's a whole month to get around sorting it out. I wonder if Post4VPS will take any of the FreeVPS members that don't have a container on here already and provide them with a special entry deal to allow them to get a new free container here with a easier transition.
To sad to read FreeVPS update with their community since I was an FreeVPS member before but as @tiwil said with their posting standard needs to be in quality, new members getting a hard time to post.

I did like it back then when HR and cw1998 were the admins in charge of everything on the site, but while a bit more of the posts are being removed, I don't see a huge impact from them.  While it actually be nice if it was a bit more looser, it's alright right now anyway.  But the disappointing thing is that sponsors left the site since they can no longer run their service anymore, it's a bit of a disappointment, but things stack up and it all just falls over...

I didn't say it's sponsors fault at all. I said the reason why forum lost activity is because lost of sponsors / servers. That's why quality posts and posters decreased. Sponsors don't come running just because its a popular forum. You need to reach out and try to get them. No its not easy task either but that doesn't mean it shoudn't be done either.

Many ask this question for last couple of years since freevps.us started loosing sponsors. given suggestion of created a group for volunteers who can represent freevps.us and reach out providers. Some staff members simply brushed off this telling no need to bother we will take care of it.  This suggestion came because nobody can work 24/7 as free volunteers. But they didn't want that and apparently they hadn't taken care of that either. Now suddenly out of no where they say They are going to close the shop because nobody posting quality posts. That's wrong in so many levels.

Haha, I'm not there before Ignis came. But really, I know the feel when your posts are getting deleted everytime. I really tired while post something and after that got deleted. Why so serious? If you're too serious, it can end like FVPS. I know there is Spam/Testing sections, but, yea, why not? And also, if you're too serious, and don't have a space to get a joke, then the forum will be inactive in sort of time.

Ps: I got deleted too here, I don't really know why. It's like, you're commenting to a thread, and got deleted. Hope P4V will not end like FVPS.
Thanks to Limitless Hosting and Post4VPS for providing me excellent VPS 13!
This is also some what true this problem with deleting posting. I don't know if he has done it continuously because in his early days as a mod he did went overboard with deleting posts right and left. I remember once I got missing post PM by cw1998 when I was sure I had done more than the post quota. I noticed like 10 posts are missing so I wrote back to cw1998 asking him to check those soft deleted posts and see if those are really freaking SPAM. He did reply telling me i don't need to do more posts and talked to this "Mod" about this issue.

I agree one liners and make no sense posts are an issue to any forum. If a member 15 one liners now that can take as SPAM. Specially if you wait till last moment and trying complete quota with rubbish. But that's not what happened there. they were deleting posts right and left. Even when thee are small grammar errors in posts.

Also I do agree that those old Admins like HR , cw1998 and Optimus were very professional when they managed things. They were not arrogant at least.

I'm so with you on this too @xdude. Just imagine the traffic it would have generated if we had had a thread from a very enthusiastic Admin who is gung-ho to work on getting sponsors for FreeVPS.  Which brings us to the real problem.  Lack of  creative, enthusiastic and dynamic forward moving Admin after the departure of Chris and Monad and retirement of the owner.  It was deeply frustrating to see the Giveaway Process slipping in standards when the new Giveaway Manager right from the very beginning clearly didn't have the time to do the job - he should never have taken it on.

With the exception of SLC I also didn't see any of the Admin or the Moderators making quality threads and tutorials to inject some positive energy into the Forum and to motivate others to post to the same standard. I'd say most of the Mods couldn't write quality posts anyway.  Like way to go, appointing someone who can't write quality posts, to moderate posts that need to be to a high standard.  I think others have pointed this out as well.  The obsessive preoccupation with a high standard of quality was a problem too.  They should have been a little more relaxed about that.  Not completely relaxed, but enough to build a happy community who would be motivated to post even when they didn't have to.
