Do you know of any magazine template / theme for WordPress ? Most of them I find on Google are premium. I was hoping to find a free theme in Magazine category.

I don't know about best WP magazine theme but i am fan of Hueman theme because its free and easy to customize.

sparkling is not inferior to other wordpress theme. sparkling is a responsive theme. also simple but ..it seems to me: D

I have checked Hueman. In fact, used it before for a project. It is an awesome themes. But there is also Promax theme which looks built for a magazine website. The free version is not responsive though.

Magazine themes are pretty different from the one your shared. Mostly they have some interesting widgets like " Flash News " and similar.
