Personal Computer IS DEAD?... sort of

[Image: upSgpJattjiC3bBoWg-lfFw1CXcX9TzNxrcN_gsh...61-h599-no]OK guys . so recently android user surpassed windows user . that mean there are more people using mobile device then a personal computer (desktop or laptop) you think that is a dead of a personal computer? but NO . the reason that happen because a mobile phone itself is small and it also have mobile data built in so they can take it anywhere . not only that but smartphone espescially android is getting cheaper and because of all the reason making no reason to own a personal computer like desktop and laptop again

but for me i still need pc . most of my task can be done on a smart phone but i still prefer to do it on a pc . i say pc that is include a windows , mac , linux basically a computer that run desktop os like windows , mac and linux . for example is photo manipulation . photo manipulation is possible in android using application called picsart but the problem is the feature is not as much as photoshop . not only that but with touchscreen i cannot do a precision moving or cutting . for example there is no free transform feature on pics art but there are on photoshop . another task is developing apps . up to this day there is NO WAY to develop android apps using android . correct me if i wrong . but even if there are it will be frustating because of the small screen and touch screen keyboard . physical keyboard like we see on pc and laptop is much better to type in . even the sh*t one . another one is video editing . same as photo manipulation there are a lot of video editing software on android but it is still not even beating the pc counterpart . and another problem is that precision control . if you need frame by frame editiong you really need precision control but with touch screen good luck . you not even close to precision . you need a mouse . well you can plug a mouse to android but back to lack of feature on editing software . and the last one is peneteration testing . just for starter THERE ARE NO PYTHON ON ANDROID . yes . if you dont know python is a framework for a lot of penetration testing software like sqlmap , fimap , and more and there are rarely a penetration testing app on android . the closest app to penetrationt esting is a wifi tester that can test a security of a wifi network

there are still more reason but i only give 4 because it probably will be boring by the way thanks for reading my thread and comment here what do you think of the future . is PC gonna be dead or PC will be still alive . for me it probably will still alive but only for the mid - high end part for gamers , content creator and developer , regular consumer who use internet only for social media will probably using a mobile phone

Smartphones are very cheap this why most people who do not work on PC have only a smartphone. Nowadays even feature phones are more expensive than a budget smart phone.

What would you expect people to have? More computers or more portable devices like tablets or phones?

Most people has only 1 computer. A lot of people also has 2 or more mobile devices.
It's expected that more mobile devices are in circulation since people can use them on the go.

No, PCs aren't dead. There are still a crapton of tasks that can only be productively done one a personal computer. Would you type a 500 word essay on your phone or your device rather than your computer?

yes pc isnt dead in the content creating and developer niche . but in normal consumer that only use internet for social media and playing light game mobile device is better for them because it is affordable and cheaper . even for some reason in my country there are a smartphone that can get to laptop performance for the same price but different archtitecture . pc use x86 mobile use ARM .

and i think pc will not dead soon . because content creator and developer need a pc . they technically even cannot complete their task using a smartphone . for content creator the mobile video editor application is not even close to professional video editor like premiere , vegas and final cut pro . and for developer even to this day there is still no way to develop android apps on android . i mean in windows you can develop windows program . in mac you can develop mac app and in linux you can develop linux app but why there are no way to develop android app in android . it is because the developer of a program that make software think that no one will make a app on android because it is frustating . even on tablets . you need a precision control for resizing the controls . same for content cretating you need precision control for frame by frame editing

the mobile phone performance is getting better this day . so lack of performance isnt really the biggest problem for light developer (that doesnt need much resource) and low resolution content creating . the problem is because like i said before the developer of the app doesnt think a mobile need that desktop quality feature so developer just put basic feature to content creating application on smartphone and for developer there still no apps that develop android app on android .

but even if there are a fully functional apps that do content creating like desktop and developing app on android well you back to lack of precision control because of tiny screen and the screen is tiny . most smartphone nowdays is using five inch display . no matter how much the resolution is 720p , 1080 , 4K OR EVEN 8K . it is beter to have a bigger screen instead because it is hard to see pixel by pixel . and for some content creator pixel by pixel editing is important and to see the pixel it is really hard so you ended up wasting resource on that display

well you think ok just plug a mouse and keyboard and there you go . WRONG  . you still get another problem like a small screen . OK just plug it on a tv . wait if you do that THEN JUST BUY A PC . it will do that thing even better so that is my opinion why pc is not dead in some niche . and remember . IF there are no people that create content and develop apps THERE ARE NO Content for a SMART PHONE and pretty much making the smart phone useless

pc sales is declining since 2007 . thanks to iphone . and much declining in 2010 thanks to ipad . and now it is much much declining and market share drop . thanks to affordable android smartphone

and i will say to all android and ios user who say pc is useless . well without pc your phone will not have any apps and any content . AND EVEN A OS . OR EVEN A DESIGN . ALL OF THAT IS DESIGNED ON PC

PC isnt dead

Personal Computer aren't dead it's just that PC is not portable though there is a Laptop you can use but still tablet and smart phones are more handy to use even where you are.

PC isn't dead either, gaming Laptops are so easy to break, and it isn't durable, unlike gaming PC, I own a Laptop and a (somewhat) gaming PC, I usually use the Laptop to do the whatever stuff I do on the internet, and I use the PC for gaming obviously. I kinda use my smartphone for contacting my friends and chatting though, nothing more.

well the truth is phone is easy to break to . and much HARDER to repair . if you break a keyboard on a laptop you just unscrew some screw and lift up the keyboard . but if you broke your touchscreen on a smarthphone you need to replace the lcd + touch screen combo and it is hard to take apart a phone because how small it is . another example is if your storage (solid state drive or hard disk drive) broke you just replace it but if your smartphone eMCC broke . well you need to heat the chip with heat gun , lift it up , replace the new chip , and put it and most of smartphone user will probably just replace it because it is not as easy as taking a hard drive and putting a new solid state drive in it

so for repairability laptop is much better than smarthpone . even tough the new one like the new macbook are hard to repair because everything is intergated and soldered into the board making repair like repairing smartphone . but most gaming laptop are still easy to fix

and hard repairbility in case you dont know is one of planned obselence technique that used by many vendor to milk you to buy their product much faster
