Some days ago I watched: Project Power on Netflix. I didn't like it, I have kinda wasted 2h of my free time. The actors were good but the screenplay was sometime fast and sometime slow. It like the developing of the film has been double-handed with 2 different minds.

As always I leave here the plot, but I don't suggest it at all.

In near-future New Orleans, a mysterious distributor offers a free supply of “Power”–a pill that grants various superpowers for five minutes–to a group of drug dealers, including one named Newt.

Six weeks later, Newt's teenage cousin Robin, a dealer herself, is nearly robbed by customers seeking Power. She is rescued by NOPD Officer Frank Shaver, one of her regular buyers. Art, a man hunting for the distributor “Biggie”, tracks down Newt, who dies after a struggle when he overdoses on Power. Frank foils a bank robbery by a Power-enhanced thief, but is suspended for using Power himself. His captain reveals that government personnel are pressuring him to terminate any investigation into Power, and gives Frank a picture of the man they suspect to be the source of the drug: Art.

Using Newt’s phone to find and abduct Robin, Art forces her to take him to the drug cartel's safehouse. He is shot while eliminating several of the cartel's men, and discovers that Power users throughout New Orleans are being monitored as test subjects for the drug. Art bonds with Robin as they treat his wounds, and reveals that after leaving the military, he was recruited by Teleios, a private defense contractor who experimented on him to create superpowers. His daughter Tracy, born after the experiments, exhibited powers without ever taking the drug, and was abducted by Wallace, a Teleios operative.

Art and Robin find Biggie hosting a private demonstration of Project Power for a potential buyer near the Superdome, where large groups of Saints fans are arriving for a home game. Biggie claims that Power represents “the next evolution of the human species”, with the pill’s powers derived from the abilities of animals, such as the chameleon or the wolverine frog. Art interrogates Biggie at gunpoint and learns of a ship, the Genesis, but Frank intervenes, having tracked other users to the demonstration. Biggie takes a dose of Power, forcing Art, Robin, and Frank to flee as Art kills Biggie in an explosion.

Frank arrests Art and informs his captain, but Art explains that the Power epidemic in New Orleans is mass testing to stabilize the drug, and that Tracy is the source of the drug’s powers. Having convinced Frank that his captain is actually taking orders from Teleios, Art purposely has himself captured by Teleios and taken aboard the Genesis. Frank and Robin infiltrate the ship, and Art persuades a guard to free him. Frank and Art kill Wallace, while Robin finds Tracy and reunites her with her father.

As the four attempt to flee, Robin is captured by Dr. Gardner, the head of Project Power, who demands Tracy in exchange for Robin’s life. Art confronts Gardner, revealing that Power gives him the abilities of a pistol shrimp, which he uses to kill Gardner and her men and rescue Robin. Using his power costs Art his life, but Tracy resurrects him with her own powers, and they all escape the ship.

Frank intends to expose Project Power to the press, while Art decides to move on. He gives Robin his truck and a bag full of money to cover her mother's medical needs, telling her to use the greatness inside of her. Art and Tracy depart, finally free. Meanwhile, Robin begins a new career as a rapper.

I watched the movie 2012(2009). I watched it before but that was like 10 years ago. I think it's a pretty good movie for a Sci-fi disaster movie. I would give it 8/10. This movie really got me thinking. After all these stuff humans do as amazing achievements like mass destruction weapons, trying to send people Moon and Mar, etc, there is nothing we can do in a massive level natural disaster or such thing. There's nothing we could about a Tsunami.

Watched the Bollywood movie "Rang De Basanti". It's a 2006 movie comprising of music and romance, starring Amir Khan.

The plot of the story revolves around six friends, who are later joined by one of their rivals who later comes to terms with them. The girl has a friend from the UK who joins them since she wanted to record a documentary featuring the five friends as the various characters of a story. However, their life takes a turn when one of their friend who was a pilot dies in an airplane crash (the plane crashed due to the poor quality of materials used for its construction). The defense minister of the country, however, denies that as a fact and justifies the event saying that the pilot was inexperienced. It is then that the five friends decide to assassinate the defense minister, along with the father of one of the friends who was involved in violence at a later stage of the movie too. All five of them ultimately get killed when they voluntarily admit that they were the ones who killed the defense minister and explain their reasons for doing so on the all-India radio.

The movie is very difficult to explain in words and it'd be best to watch the movie to understand its true essence. In my opinion, the movie deserves a 9/10. A really touching movie indeed.

Watched The Good The Bad The Weird (2008). It's a South Korean movie that is pretty much at the Hollywood level. The only one I could recognize from the cast is Lee Byung-hun who had been in many Hollywood movies like Red, G.I. Jeo, Terminator Genisys, etc. This movie is super good I would say better than most of the Hollywood movies of that time. It's an action-packed movie which perfect balance with comedy stuff. Recently I have watched many Korean and Chinese movies which are really high-quality productions. I would give this one 9/10.

In the midst of an elaborate conspiracy, an expert negotiator is driven to the edge when he's framed for the murder of his partner, as well as embezzling money from his department's pension fund. His only chance to prove his innocence is to take hostages himself, acquire the services of another expert negotiator, and find out who's running the conspiracy before it's too late.

Another great conspiracy based movie with some big actors like Samuel L Jackson, Kevin Spacey, David Morse and others. I really enjoyed watching and it liked it. So a recommendation from me if you want to watch one the older and much better movies than the stuff from nowadays or a few years ago.

At a funeral for a friend, David runs into his high school best friend Efraim Diveroli, who had moved to Los Angeles some years prior to work with his uncle selling guns. Efraim has left his uncle and formed his own company, AEY, which fills orders for arms placed by the US government due to the ongoing war in Iraq. David's life takes another turn when his girlfriend informs him that she is pregnant. Efraim offers him a job at AEY, and even though David and Iz both vehemently oppose the war, David eventually agrees, telling his girlfriend that he has begun selling his cotton sheets to the US government through Efraim's contacts.

A great crime comedy movie about two weapon dealers. One of the movies that was recommended very often to me on several sites.

Enjoyed watching it .

I don't really know what to say. I watched it but I didn't really watch it at the same time. I couldn't get into it. It wasn't that interesting for me. Story wasn't that good.

I do not agree with the rating. Maybe I don't understand something but it's just not for me.

Hard to believe the rating dropped so hard. When I initially got the movie to watch it at some point it had a rating in the 7.x.

Honestly I think it deserves better than 5.8 but it's a movie that belongs to the WTF genre and one of those mindf***k things. Those movies tend to be misunderstood by many people and thus get bad ratings and reviews.

A really awesome movie about two magician friends who parted ways after an accident and become enemies. Both fight each other while developing brand new and great magic tricks and shows.

Cherry on top is the awesome cast with Christian Bale, Hugh Jackman, Scarlett Johansson and others.

You need to watch this movie along with The Illusionist.

A lot of Spanish. Sadly I couldn't find properly working subtitles for the Spanish scenes. The subtitles I had found worked for the beginning and after that there was nothing although the subtitles had over 23k of lines. That kind did make it a bit hard to watch the movie.

Great movie about friendship, getting old and hard decisions.

A great and funny movie about two private investigators who are in search of a missing girl. Many weird, funny and strange events happening. The movie already starts totally weird.

Russell Crowe and Ryan Gosling two big hit stars playing 70s detectives . What else would you want?

A interesting jail story / heist movie with Ewan McGregor but it's not that special. One more for the Aussie friends as that movie is a Australian production .

Stepan refuses, but Anna finds a card of a restaurant owned by the Russian Semyon inside the diary and she visits the old man trying to find a lead to contact Tatiana's family. When she mentions the existence of the diary, Semyon immediately offers to translate the document. However, Stepan translates part of the diary and Anna discovers that Semyon and his sick son Kirill had raped Tatiana when she was fourteen years old and forced her to work as prostitute in a brothel of their own. Further, Semyon is the dangerous boss of the Russian mafia "Vory v Zakone", jeopardizing the safety of Anna and her family.

It was a very interesting movie to watch.

It was very funny though to watch actors like Vincent Cassel speak Russian (don't mind that I watched the movie with German dub). He always plays some or another kind of villian in most movies.

To quote one of the best reviews for the movie "A Harrowing Look at a Criminal Justice System Gone Wrong". Shows another absolutely massive case of the corrupt and incompetent justice system in many countries. Also what kind of filth we humans are and how inhumane our friends the police and etc are. No serve and protect. Bullshit. Look at America and other countries. Don't trust the police or the justice system. It's all bought. Even the politics in my country are bought through lobbying.

A retired Special Forces officer is trapped in a never-ending time loop on the day of his death.

So what is this movie about? In short: a former special forces soldier ist caught in a loop of reliving the same day over and over again. Why? Well, he is being killed by hired hitman and after he dies everything starts again. First he doesn't understand why it is happening and why he. It happens so often that he basically gets tired of it and knows all the hitman and ways to get them killed but eventually he still dies at some point.

It is very interesting. At the beginning it sounds funny. Like he is stuck in a computer game where when he dies he simply starts again from a previous safe point. Later on as the story progresses further it gets really interesting and you start to feel with the main character and want him to go futher attempt for attempt and solve the mystery puzzle.

It's great for a watch. One of the better and more interesting movies of this year.

A really great movie with Christian Bale. Watch a watch once or twice or more .

You have to watch it to understand what it is about. The older the movie the better usually. And with Christian Bale it is almost always one of the greatest movies.

@Mashiro  I've been going through a slack time of watching movies.  Have you found that in some of the Hollywood movies, actors seem to be mumbling.  Has to be the sound of the movie or the acting.  Anyway, tonight it happened to me again.  

I was watching The Kingdom (2007). It's a "fictional" movie based on true events of a bombing that happened in Saudi Arabia in 1996 known as the Khobar Towers bomb blast near an oil refinery in Saudi Arabia. 19 U.S. Air Force guys were killed and 498 of many nationalities were wounded. There were also 5 Americans killed by a smaller car bomb blast ahead of the bigger blast. Iran and Hezbollah were found guilty of the attack by a US Court in 2006, a year before the movie was made. In July 2020 Iran was ordered to pay $879m to the Khobar bombing survivors.

There were some great actors in "The Kingdom" movie including Jamie Foxx in the lead role, Chris Cooper and Jennifer Garner.  I really liked this movie (give it 8/10), however had to really concentrate in trying to make out the dialog.  Do you find it too that in some of the American movies the dialog is difficult to make out as they seem to be mumbling in their mouths.  I wish they could have Subtitles for all of the movies, but regrettably this movie didn't come with sub-titles.

Anyway, I recommend this movie to those interested in this sort of war on terrorism.  But this is a movie one has to be wide awake with and focus and concentrate.  Possibly also do some background reading first on the original real life event of 1996 to get a better understanding for the background of the movie.

I also watched an action movie classic Backdraft (1991) with Kurt Russell, William Baldwin, Donald Sutherland and Robert DeNiro.  The lead actors Kurt Russell and William Bladwin performances are outstanding, and the movie tempo very fast. Lots of Fire Fighting drama trying to find the arsonist responsible for setting Backdraft style fires.  Amazing cinematography.  I score it 9/10.

I've seen Backdraft maybe for a third time and this time I was still impressed.  What is particularly great is the music by Hans Zimmerman - can't get enough of this music as it so exactly portrays the theme of the movie - my favourite is "You go we go".

I agree. Hence why I barely watch movies in their original language. Like 97% of everything I watch is in German. Some actors are really hard to understand and it doesn't get any better that US movies have the dialog audio always with reduced volume level while everything else like music, actions scenes and etc. are super duper loud. It's horrible and ruins the enjoyment to watch the movie for me.

I watched both THe Kingdom and Backdraft. Both great older movies .

A crime lord ascends to power and becomes megalomaniacal while a maverick police detective vows to stop him. The gangster Nino has a gang who call themselves Cash Money Brothers. They get into the crack business and not before long they make a million dollars every week. A cop, Scotty, is after them. He tries to get into the gang by letting an ex-drug addict infiltrate the gang, but the attempt fails miserably. The only thing that remains is that Scotty himself becomes a drug pusher.

A old movie classic that deals with a drug epedemic and the war on drugs / violence caused by them.

Wesley Snipes, Chris Rock, Ice T and other actors. WOW!

A movie based on the story and about the infamous and Britain's most crazy / brutal criminal known as Charles Bronson.

Tom Hardy my boy is playing Charles Bronson himself in that movie. The movie is crazy or well, the Charles Bronson character is so himself. Tom Hardy always nails the roles he plays.

A movie based on a Stephen King novel about a teacher who after an accident woke up from a long coma and discovered that he has the ability to see the future of people he meets.

Christopher Walken playing the main role very well. Overall a very good movie. A lot of the movies and TV shows based on novels by Stephen King are great pieces of work.

That was a really interesting and intense movie about a munhunt for a child molester and mentally ill man.

Worth a watch .
