Actually now a days open source seems better for me.

pros to older edge
-better web compatibility
It is basically chrome with google replaced with microsoft
-mac (and possibly linux) support
Because chrome is already support other operating system . New edge can easily ported thus making more user base to edge

google chrome isnt open source . Chromium (base pf chrome) does . google chrome is chromium with google telemetry and drm added . if you prefer open source you should use chromium or firefox (more reccomended for windows pc because chromium on windows sucks) instead

It is interesting you still like Google Chrome if you prefer open source projects. Smile

But I understand many people confuse with Chromium and Chrome. In fact Chromium is quite different from Chrome which is under controlled by Google.

Sadly the Microsoft Edge is also not open sourced either.

it is confusing but you cannot easily download chromium (on windows . on linux it is much reccomended than google chrome) except if you are get infected with virueses or PUP that include chromium for advertising purpose . most chromium on windows is from virueses that need a browser

Actually I heard both Google Chrome and Chromium is developed by Google. I believed Chrome is a chromium based browser, but an advanced version of it. I know both are different in terms of features, but having some similarities as well.

Thank you  Sweet

Already mentioned this somewhere on this board, but anyway, here we go again:

CHROME = GOOGLE'S (OPEN-SOURCE) CHROMIUM + GOOGLE'S PROPRIETARY CODE BASE (THE THINGS THAT SPIES ON YOU) + OTHER PATENTED MEDIA-RELATED STUFF
